Meet Dr. Vasilakos

Dr. Laura Vasilakos, or "Dr. Laura" as many call her, is a friendly, compassionate listener attentive to your vision care needs.  She enjoys examining infants and children with a fun, creative style.

Dr. Laura understands that there is more to vision than just seeing 20/20.  As a former teacher, she is very passionate about working with children and adults who have vision problems that interfere with their ability to read, learn, and comprehend.

After receiving her doctorate in optometry from New England College of Optometry in 2005, Dr. Laura pursued an additional 200 hours of post graduate education in binocular vision, vision development and vision therapy.

As a Fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), Dr. Laura is board certified in vision development, behavioral and developmental vision care, optometric vision therapy and vision rehabilitation.   She also provides functional and preventative vision care services to her patients.

Dr. Vasilakos lives in Hingham with her husband, two daughters and her ‘third’ daughter, a Shetland Sheep dog.  In addition, she volunteers as a Girl Scout troop leader, sings in local choirs and stays active by jogging, hiking, swimming and practicing yoga.
